STAGE 1 - WATERING RESTRICTIONS

The City of Rollingwood has entered into Stage 1 watering restrictions.

CITY OF ROLLINGWOOD

403 NIXON DRIVE

ROLLINGWOOD, TX

August 30, 2018

Dear Rollingwood Water Customers,

Effective August 30, 2018, the City of Rollingwood has entered Stage 1 of the City of Austin Drought Contingency Plan.  As you may know, the City of Austin recently implemented Stage 1 water restrictions as a result of combined storage in lakes Travis and Buchanan falling below 1.4 million acre-feet.  The City of Rollingwood is a contract customer for wholesale water of the City of Austin and the contract requires the City of Rollingwood to implement similar conservation measures.  Specifically, section 3.09 of the contract provides Austin the ability to impose a surcharge of 25% of the rate if Rollingwood fails to comply with all the terms of the contract with respect to adopting and enforcing water conservation measures.  To avoid any imposition of this surcharge, please comply with the following Stage 1 watering restrictions immediately.

Stage 1 Watering Restrictions Summary:

  • Automatic irrigation allowed one day per week for all customers (from midnight to 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight).  For residential customers with an even numbered address using automatic irrigation systems, your watering day is Thursday, and those with odd numbered addresses may water on Wednesday.  Hose-end sprinklers may be used on Thursday and Sunday if your address is even, or on Wednesdays and Saturdays if your address is an odd number.  For commercial customers, automatic irrigation is allowed on Tuesday if your address is even and on Friday if your address is odd.  Hose-end sprinklers allowed on Tuesday for even address and Friday for odd addresses (from midnight to 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to midnight).
  • Washing vehicles at home allowed if an auto shut-off hose or bucket is used.
  • Charity car washes may only be held at a commercial car wash.
  • Fountains must recirculate water.
  • Restaurants may not serve water unless requested by a customer.
  • Patio misters at commercial properties (including restaurants and bars) may only operate between 4 p.m. and midnight.
  • Commercial power/pressure washing equipment must meet efficiency requirements.
